Multiple Extractions Instructions

Post-Operative Guidelines

Follow these instructions carefully after multiple tooth extractions. A small amount of bleeding is to be expected following the operation.

Bleeding

If bleeding occurs, place a gauze pad directly over the bleeding socket and apply biting pressure for 30 minutes. If bleeding continues, a moist tea bag can be used for 30 minutes.

Swelling

Swelling is to be expected, and usually reaches its maximum in 48 hours. To minimize swelling, use cold packs on the outside of the face, adjacent to the surgical area.
