Distraction Osteogenesis

A revolutionary approach to generating new bone.

What is Distraction Osteogenesis?

Distraction osteogenesis is a procedure that moves two segments of a bone slowly apart in such a way that new bone fills in the gap. This treatment allows for dramatic expansion of jaw bone volume when severe atrophy or congenital defects have occurred.

The Process

A distraction device is placed surgically. After a brief healing period, the device is activated slightly each day, slowly pulling the bone segments apart. Your body naturally responds by filling the resulting gap with new, healthy bone tissue.
